Source Organic in the News!

November 28 2013

Take a look at Source's founder discussing the benefits of whey protein:

"Like most manufactured foods, protein powders are not created equal. Organic is really the way to go. Since whey and casein come from milk, the same concerns that apply to non-organic dairy apply, like pesticide residue, added hormones, and the cow's GMO-corn diet. (This issue is why Matheny says he created Source Organic Whey, which also sources its whey from grass-fed cows.) Note: Casein has also been shown to promote the growth of cancer cells in some animal studies.

Organic is also especially important with soy, since more than 90 percent of the crops grown in the United States are genetically modified and pesticide-soaked. Non-organic soy also tends to be heavily processed, which your body won't like. "Super-processed soy is not really digestible," Matheny says."

Exciting News for Source Organic Whey

September 20 2013

We have incredibly exciting news here at Source Organic Whey. Our two products, Source Organic Whey and Source Organic Whey Classic, are the first organic whey proteins to be Non-GMO Project Verified and certified by the American Human Association. Additionally, we have stopped using soy lecithin and are now soy-free with a Non-GMO, organic, sunflower lecithin.

We listened when our customers were concerned about the effects of soy. Also, we will be running some promotions in the near future so please keep your eyes on our blog!

Dear NorCal Organic Customer,

We have always been a company focused on providing the highest quality products to our customers. This includes our packaging. Recently we started using a new type of bag with the goal of reducing the amount of plastic we use. This was based on our company's environmental goals as well as many customer requests.

The new bags have an inner bag that protects the ingredients inside from air and moisture. The second layer of the bag, instead of using a plastic, we chose to use a paper based layer made from wood pulp. This reduced the plastic in our bags by 60%. Unfortunately, we have heard from a number of customers that this new bag is not durable enough and they have received bags that were damaged in shipping.

First, we apologize if you have been one of the customers that has received a damaged bag. Second, we are working as quickly as we can to bring back our previous bag packaging that provided the durability needed for our product to survive what can be a rough shipping experience.

Please reach out to us if you have received a damaged bag so we can take care of this.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, we will work as quickly as we can to correct this.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

NorCal Organic
